Formation of regional identity in the inner periphery Czech; case study Neveklov region

This diploma thesis had two basic aims. The first was an analysis of the processes shaping regional identity particularly of the study area of Neveklovsko and the identification of the inner potential in the region from the socio-economic and sociocultural aspects. The second aim was to identify the differences in the various areas of Czech region, specifically the high concentration of settlements with a predominately tourist and recreational function, where the research was conducted within the grant project. The research was carried out on using a field survey and questionnaire. The Neveklovsko area is an example of a rural area of the inner periphery containing a high concentration of settlements with the predominating tourist and recreational function. The Second World War played an important role in shaping regional identity, particularly because of forced displacements and its use as a training ground of the SS. Cottages or hermitage? Specific leisure time habits of Czech society

This thesis is focused on potential reason, that could lead to the interest of the Czech society about cottage phenomen. The theoretical parth od this thesis define concept of "Second housing", which is important in comprehending current situation this subject. The main part of the work chapter Importance of cottage for free time - describes activites that are connected with cottages. This parth also includes motivation and reasons used in the literature. Practical part contains eigth interviews with cottagers. Data colleted from those interviews serves as base for determining the conclusions, that may be the actual reasons behind this phenomen of Czech people.
Functional changes of the Vltava cascade's banks focusing on the Water reservoir Slapy

The diploma thesis is focused on evaluation of changes in the functional use of banks of Water reservoir Slapy. It is done on the basis of study of professional literature and resources, map data and own survey. Water reservoir Slapy holds many functions, such as energetic or flow control. The main purpose of the banks is in tourism and recreation. In the thesis is emphasized the recreational function which changes are analyzed in four periods. The other analyzed functions are economic, service, transport and residential functions. Part of the thesis is also analysis of managed interviews with mayors of municipalities and representatives of recreational facilities. The thesis contributes, as a survey of changes in the landscape of the area of interest, to understanding the area of Central Vltava. Since the 1990s, there has been observed a significant change in the use of second homes, especially in cottage sites in city outskirts as a part of suburbanization development. The aim of this work is to evaluate the status of second housing and these changes by example of outskirts of two czech provintial cities - Hradec Králové and Pardubice, which has not yet been given sufficient attention in previous studies. This work complements extensive researches realized by the Department of social geography and regional development, which pays a long-term attention to this subject. In order to maintain compatibility with these researches, there is used similar methodology that consists of the questionnaire survey. Emphasis is given not only on specifics of sites in outskirts of these cities and their mutual comparison, but also on their development, which reflects the historic development of the czech settlement and those cities themselves. Recreation in cabins along the middle Otava and Volyňka rivers - territorial structure, development problems and their solutions

This bachelor thesis focuses on development issues related to the cabin recreation in the area along the middle Otava and Volyňka rivers. The author deals with the literature regarding the recreation in the cabins and generally in the so-called weekend houses. The aim is to describe the potential problems and possibly effective solutions. The other part of this thesis consists of findings during the survey in the cabin settlement. The survey was based on questioning the cabin-dwellers and local officials on what they are usually confronted with and afterwards detailed surrounding research was implemented. As a result of processing the outcomes some vital solutions were suggested.
Second housing and underground ekonomy in comunist Czechoslovakia

The final thesis covers a situation of a second housing in Czech Republic. It analyzes an origin and a development of this phenomenon during 20th century. Thesis is focused on the second half of 20th century especially, emphasizes the variety of motivations for having the hobby of second housing and also discusses the issues with constructions or reconstructions of cottages and chalets. Particularly, insufficiencies of building materials and lack of craft services that are closely related to underground economy, which is also discussed here.
Recreation in cabins around Kamýk and Slapy dams - teritorial structure, development problems and their solutions

Bachelor thesis deals with recreation in a cabins around Kamýk and Slapy dams. First characterizes the studied area, then place mapping cottage settlements in the field and typing. Carried out interviews with the actors in the cabins - cottage owners, workers building authorities and municipal authorities. The main aim of this thesis is the analysis of development problems associated with recreational gardening. Specifically, this includes such problems as: the provision of technical and transport infrastructure, cottage owners coexistence between each other and with the original inhabitants, environmental and landscape problems etc.
Human migration from the towns to rural areas (case study of migration in the area of Dražice near Tábor).

The bachelor thesis deals with the migration of urban populations to rural areas Dražice near Tábor. Amenity migration is a new form of specific global population migration. The prevailing direction of movement from the city to the countryside. The forms of migration were defined according to individual motivation as a migration for a better environment. This type of migration is motivated by the effort to live in a generally more better socio - cultural environment. The aim of this thesis is to find forms of "migration" into Dražice near Tabor and identification of the main reasons for this migration and determine if respondents' expectations were met. This aim has been specified through a questionnaire people and then evaluating these questionnaires.
Issues of territorial development in the Cottage settlements of the Jihlava district and their solutions.

This bachelor thesis deals with Cottage occupation in the area of Jihlava district and especially with its development issues. My work´s topic is connected to the topic of Martin hadrava´s diploma thesis, who mapped the placement of Cottage villages in the previously mentioned region and categorized all the villages and eventually the cottages themselves. This bachelor thesis includes characteristics of the district´s area, an assessment of my field research on the Cottage settlements and their inhabitants while asking them about the problém of Cottage occupation, an analysis of interviews with public administration employees in each particular area, and it also includes a use of literature that deals with second housing. Based on my interviews and the field research in the Jihlava district, I discovered various problems connected to particular cottage settlements. In the end I made suggestions about solving some of these problems.
